Our activities are aimed at children, not specifically boys, not specifically girls. We believe all children should have access to creative experiences and be allowed to develop artistic skills without gender stereotypes. Every child is naturally curious and creative, and these are such important skills to nurture and celebrate. If we give children space to develop their creativity, they will become problem solvers, who are confident in their abilities and so much more. Currently many art products for children are either aimed very much at girls, which as the parent of a curious boy is pretty frustrating or are very prescriptive in their activities. This doesn’t allow children to develop their imagination or explore their own artistic ideas.
All our creative makes have clear instructions, but we always encourage children to develop their own ideas and individual interpretations of each activity. They will be able to undertake most of our art tasks themselves, we want them to be independent. When you have the time, sharing creative moments with your child should be fun. You don’t need to be a great artist yourself to enjoy these activities with your child, the process of planning and making is just as important as the final outcome.
